About the publication
Research you can trace to its source.
SocialUsage helps readers understand, compare and cite statistics about social media and digital behavior. It is operated by Social Usage.
What we publish
Our starting point is a reader’s question: who participates, how often, and what does the measure actually count? U.S. surveys lead our coverage. Separate company disclosures explain platform audiences, while international datasets provide clearly scoped comparisons.
Research pages pair an answer with its source, population and date. Charts have accessible tables. Where the evidence supports a calculation, readers can inspect the inputs and formula. Where it does not, we explain the limit instead of supplying an estimate.

Who does the work
Social Usage is the publisher responsible for this presentation. The site and its research are produced with an automated assistant: it helps inspect source documents, write code and explanatory text, check calculations, and run validation. This is assisted editorial and technical checking, not independent human peer review. We do not claim named expert authors, professional credentials or independent reviewers that have not been recorded.
Original data belong to the credited survey agencies, researchers and companies. SocialUsage’s calculations and interpretations are identified separately. Source organizations do not endorse this publication.
What readers can verify
Each study preserves the relevant question, population, denominator, geography and reference period. Survey participation is not a platform’s active-user count; internet users are not all adults. Source dates remain visible even when an article or its presentation is updated.
Reviewed datasets have fixed releases, provenance and source-specific reuse terms. A failed import leaves the previous release available. Public pages do not rely on live API calls for their core findings.

Corrections and questions
Contact [email protected] with the page URL, the statement or value in question, and a supporting source if available. Please do not send respondent records, account credentials or other sensitive information. We do not promise a response time.
Changes to published evidence are recorded in the updates and corrections log. Fixed dataset versions remain available for citations. A new survey wave and a correction to our own presentation are different kinds of change.
